Growing Our Village: Foster Village Lawrence Expands to Northeast Kansas

by Carolyn Sobczyk

Hello, Foster Village family!

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with all of you.

After nearly two years of supporting foster families in Lawrence, we're expanding our reach to support caregivers and children throughout Northeast Kansas. As we grow our village, we are changing our name to "Foster Village Northeast KS" to better represent the various communities we aim to serve.

Our mission has always been to bridge the gap between foster families and those who want to help, meeting practical needs and providing holistic support beyond the welfare system. With this expansion, we'll be able to empower even more caregivers and foster families in Douglas, Franklin, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Osage, and Shawnee counties.

One of our first initiatives in this growth is to establish a dedicated presence in Topeka. We're partnering with our friends at Foster the Family to host a monthly support group for caregivers, and we’re working to open a Resource Closet to provide essential items for foster families in the area.

As we grow our village, we'll need your help more than ever. Whether it's through donations, volunteering at events like Caregiver Night Out or support group meetings, or simply spreading the word about our mission, your support is invaluable.

Together, we can create a stronger, more connected community for foster families in Northeast Kansas.

With gratitude,

The Team at Foster Village Northeast Kansas
