Volunteer Spotlight: CNO Coordinator Emma Wagemaker

by Carolyn Sobczyk

Emma Wagemaker has found joy and purpose in supporting the mission of Foster Village, particularly through Caregiver Night Out (CNO) events. These monthly gatherings provide foster family caregivers a much-needed break while volunteers like Emma entertain a lively group of children.

A close friend's passion for the cause inspired Emma to begin volunteering. She was eager to make a difference for foster families who work hard to provide loving homes and stability for children experiencing foster care.

As the CNO Coordinator, Emma is the liaison between Foster Village Northeast KS and the organizations who graciously donate their time and space to help host the events.

Emma also brings a unique creative flair to the table—her hidden talent is crafting fun and engaging balloon displays! We’ve been fortunate to see Emma's skills in action as she designed and created the display for our 2nd Birthday Party.

Emma believes that anyone can play a meaningful role in supporting Foster Village Northeast KS. She encourages others to get involved, whether by volunteering to provide childcare during CNO or donating spaces to host these essential events. For Emma, the reward is knowing that her efforts provide respite for foster families and contribute to the larger mission of creating a supportive community for all involved in foster care.
